Just as a quick introduction to heraldry I have created this small image so you can see the main parts of a coat of arms.

• The Crest on top of the helm
• The helm (helmet) itself
• The mantling which hangs from the helm
• The shield, which is the most important part of the coat of arms
• The motto scroll
